Award for Deputy Commissioner John Miller, NYPD

Deputy Commissioner John Miller was recently recognized by Voices of September 11th at VOICES Always Remember Gala, which was held at the New York Athletic Club.  He was presented with VOICES 2019 Leadership Award for his extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to public service that is protecting citizens around the world. Deputy Commissioner Miller's keynote remarks included insights into his longstanding career in law enforcement and intelligence, as well as his personal experience as a journalist interviewing Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan in 1998.  As part of his remarks he recognized LinCT members Chief James Waters, Chief Thomas Galotti, and Lieutenant John Slevin, who attended the event.

Mary Fetchet, VOICES Executive Director commented, “John is a longstanding member of the Leadership in Counterterrorism (LinCT) Alumni Association and a highly respected leader among the international counterterrorism community.  It was an honor to recognize John for his extraordinary contributions and steadfast efforts in protecting our communities.  Although John deals with serious issues every day, he maintains a remarkable sense of humor.”  The gala was no exception.
